changes made to this test was the make the lady in the centre larger.

Im trying to figure how i can add the stitching I had planned to.. i tried a bit but its quite overpowering....

More experiments with text

type experiments!!

Here i was working with the initial idea i had about circling the text and drawing connecting lines. I also tried with the dotted lines but i feel its too busy. Even with dots it still distracted from the text.

These are experiments with the placement of the time related words within the sonnet. I then visualised this as a series of circles. Not sure what im totally doing with these, but im looking for a way to visually communicate the time related words within each sonnet and to also evoke a sense of time, cycles. I also still like the idea of old astronomy maps.

These are also more experiments with visually representing the time related words within each Sonnet. The first 3 I didnt really find very appealing. The next 2 I connected the words with lines to a consistent point and then from this spray of lines i formed a circle. As shown, the more time related words present in the Sonnet, the more complex the circle.

The last part of my experiments I found to be the most visually appealing. I created each Sonnet's own constellation. I tried initially with placing dots above relevant words, then connecting them in one strand. I then took each strand and placed it into a circle. In the second part I connected each dot to form a closed shape and then placed these in a circle. Hence forming their own constellations.

How each photo will be placed in box- pinned to a board with a circle of text (consistent with other assemblages. Also this text is from an old photographic process booklet, hence works with the photos) also with a small circle of floral fabric to tie into the fabric of the box

Sonnet {30}

Above are images of my assemblage for Sonnet 30. Im still thinking how to improve this one, it seems a little bare. Inside the box I have an image of the old fashioned countdown to a film, on frame number '10', and the numbers along the side are reference numbers to where within the sonnet the word 'time' or time related words are found, e.g.  30.02.12= Sonnet 30. Line 02. Word 12

abacus!

Above are photos of my abacus! The bottom image shows how I will be presenting it, on a 'plinth' of a book. The book i have used here has nothing to do with Shakespeare, or the Sonnet, so I am intending to  draw onto a new cover and place it over the text, and under the abacus.

Below is the design im thinking of for the 'cover'

ok- new cover idea- a mix of etchings

This works well with the Sonnet, which alludes to the sea, as well it reinforces the circle and to me it seems a little ying and yang..
